Caitlyn Jenner is reportedly “devastated” following the tragic and unexpected death of her longtime manager and close companion, Sophia Hutchins, who was just 29 years old.
Hutchins lost her life in a horrific ATV accident just outside Jenner’s Malibu residence. According to early reports, she collided with another vehicle while operating the all-terrain vehicle and was thrown into a nearby ravine. Although first responders arrived quickly, Hutchins was declared dead at the scene. Thankfully, no one else was hurt in the accident.

An insider close to the reality TV star told RadarOnline, “Caitlyn is in complete shock. She can’t process it. Sophia was more than just a colleague—she was a major part of Caitlyn’s everyday life.”
The pair’s connection ran deep. Since 2017, Hutchins had served as Jenner’s manager, stepping in after Jenner’s high-profile split from ex-wife Kris Jenner. Hutchins stepped in to handle the business operations of Jenner’s career—overseeing public engagements, endorsements, and more. She also played a prominent role in the E! docuseries I Am Cait, which followed Jenner’s gender transition journey.

Hutchins, a transgender woman herself, was first drawn to Jenner’s story after the former Olympic gold medalist publicly came out as transgender in 2015. At the time, Hutchins was a student at Pepperdine University, undergoing her own transition. Their paths eventually crossed, and their bond quickly grew into a unique and closely knit partnership—professionally and personally.
In a 2019 interview with The New York Times, Hutchins opened up about stepping into the role of Jenner’s manager. She said she was motivated by a desire to protect Jenner from people trying to exploit her. “There were all these people taking advantage, and I told her, ‘If I don’t step in, you’re going to be left with nothing,’” Hutchins revealed.

Despite rumors that the two were romantically involved, Hutchins was adamant about the nature of their relationship. “Caitlyn is like a parent to me,” she said at the time, adding that their dynamic was purely familial.
Hutchins lived with Jenner in her $3.5 million Malibu estate for several years and was often seen accompanying her to major events, including the 2024 White House Correspondents’ Dinner in Washington, D.C.

Hutchins was also known for her political views, often speaking out in support of President Donald Trump and backing the America First agenda—an unusual position in Hollywood’s overwhelmingly liberal circles.
As Jenner mourns this sudden loss, fans and friends alike are remembering Hutchins as a fiercely loyal, intelligent, and influential woman whose life was cut tragically short.
