Defenseless Boy, 6, Was Brutally Mauled by Pit Bull After Being Handcuffed by Mom and 2 Men

Angelina Williams, Taylor Marvin-Brown and Robert Michalski, Jr. are all heading to prison after being convicted of multiple felonies following the 2024 attack

A young boy in Ohio found himself in a terrifying situation when he was suddenly attacked by a pit bull while in handcuffs.

The 6-year-old boy barely survived the brutal mauling, and now the three people responsible for that attack are all heading to prison.

Robert Michalski, Jr., the owner of the pit bull and the house where the attack took place, was convicted by a jury on two counts of complicity to endanger a minor and a single count of tampering with evidence, according to a copy of the judgment entry filed in Ashland County Common Pleas Court obtained by people

He is now facing up to nine years in prison when he returns for his sentencing hearing on July 21.

It all happened on Aug. 19, 2024 when the three adults decided to handcuff the young boy’s wrists and ankles as part of what prosecutors call “a disturbing pattern of abuse that culminated [that day] in Savannah.”

The handcuffs made it impossible for the boy to use his hands or his legs, thus leaving him completely helpless with no way to protect himself when he was suddenly attacked by Michalski’s dog.

Michalski then fled the scene with the dog before he and the animal were detained a few days later when an officer found them hiding out in a cubbyhole during a search of his residence, according to a news release from the Ashland County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.

The jury acquitted Michalski on charges of complicity to kidnap, two additional counts of complicity to endanger a minor and a single count of possessing criminal tools.

He faced seven charges in total as did his two co-defendants, Angelina Williams and Taylor Marvin-Brown.

Williams is the mother of the victim and Marvin-Brown her “paramour” according to Ashland County Prosecuting Attorney Christopher R. Tunnell.

Marvin-Brown entered a guilty plea to all seven charges in April and Williams followed suit in May.

Williams’ sentencing is set for June 30 and Marvin-Brown will learn his fate on July 14. They are both looking at the possibility of up to 40 years in prison.

All three were convicted on the two complicity to endanger a child counts, which alleged that they each did “administer corporal punishment or other physical disciplinary measure, or physically restrain the child in a cruel manner or for a prolonged period, which punishment, discipline, or restraint was excessive under the circumstances and created a substantial risk of serious physical harm.”

As for the boy, he did recover from the attack and he and his sister are now “residing together in the care of a legal custodian where they are receiving appropriate support and protection.”
