Bianca Trester took a break from family festivities on Father’s Day morning to go for a long run while her family walked on the beach in Ventura. Her husband Luke expected to see her when he returned to his parents’ home, so he used his cellphone to check her location. He was shocked to find her in the emergency room of the local hospital. Bianca had been struck while running in the bicycle lane on Pacific Coast Highway near the State Beach, which is frequently used by pedestrians and cyclists. Because of the speed of the car, Bianca’s injuries are significant.
“Bianca sustained a broken femur, two broken tibias, a broken jaw, broken ribs, a collapsed lung, and brain trauma,” wrote Luke in a post to friends and family. “She had a successful surgery early Monday morning to stabilize the bones in her legs, but she’s going to need multiple surgeries this week to permanently fix her legs and jaw.”
We spoke to Luke today, who told us, “Bianca had an 8-hour surgery on Wednesday, June 18, to repair the bones in her legs and jaw. She spent Thursday under sedation in the ICU, but they’ve had to ease that back due to respiratory issues. We’re managing her pain now as best we can. Her memory is beginning to return, and she’s still the strong, fierce woman we all love.”
“The road to recovery will be long,” added Luke. “The doctors tell us she will be in a wheelchair for six weeks once she’s discharged, but the outlook is optimistic.”
“In other good news,” added Luke, “CHP arrested the individual responsible for hitting Bianca. We should have more details about the arrest later today. Bianca will have justice!”
Luke and Bianca live in Brookside, where Luke grew up. Bianca moved to LA from Austria in January 2021 to attend school, where she met Luke. The couple was married last August in Ventura.
“Bianca is part of the Hancock Homes family, founder John Duerler told the Buzz. “Anyone who interacted with her knows she’s an amazing, caring person. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Trester family.

The Tresters have set up a GoFundMe.com page to help with significant medical expenses they are facing.
“Her road to recovery is long and will require further hospitalization and intense physical therapy,” wrote Luke. “Bianca will not be able to work during this time, and I am taking time off to help aid in her recovery. With medical bills mounting, we are asking for any assistance you may feel comfortable in providing. Bianca and I thank you in advance for your support.”
